Connection

Writing is solitary
but not solitary confinement
unless we allow or insist
on that. Writing can be soul work
and a fine thing. Fine, too–
to connect with readers
who might say “thank you
for this” or with writers
who might say “great piece!”
Validated, we return
to what we must do.

“Connection” is my August 12th poem for the postcard poetry project. I used a contemporary card titled “North Cascades National Park, Washington.” The view is of Mount Shuksan and Picture Lake. [Beautiful!] I mailed the card to Nonie S. of Port Angeles, Washington.

Blessings to Nonie and all, Andy
