Unpacking a Life

“Unpacking a Life” is now under consideration at a journal I admire.

Wish me luck!

  1. This pair of letter-poems is so compelling–I can’t help but read them as Thoreau-like manifestos about your intentions for living. It’s interesting to me how these major shifts in one’s life work often take place in stages; it DOES seem to take these reminders and “profound prompting[s]” to get us to complete the changes we set out to make. All the best with your unpacking!

  2. Jennifer, thank you so much for your thoughtful comments.

This is my first NaPoWriMo 2012 poem. It’s sprawling and undisciplined, even while being very earnest… and true. i’m accumulating lots of new material to work on – later!

As I work through my days and commitments, I have a growing interest in processing all of these boxes and getting on with my life. I have a strong sense that they are weighing me down – like freight.

It’s curious that I understand this intellectually and still ‘needed’ Maureen Thorson’s prompt to take action!

I’m so glad that you are participating in NaPoWriMo!

Thanks again! Sincerely, and with warm regards, Andy
