Sustenance

“Sustenance” is under consideration at one of my favorite literary journals!

When it is published, I hope to re-post the poem here.

  1. Well, hey–NaPoWriMo ~ 2013 is *over*! Yaayyy!!!!
I’m happy with my output for the month. It’s just after 8PM here on the Left Coast, and I just posted my “Day 18” effort.
As my friend the poet James Bertolino says occasionally, “Where’s the harm there?”
    Press on with YOUR writing!
    Sincerely, and cheers, Andy

  2. Hummingbirds are amazing!

  3. NICE, Andy! What wonderful turns of phrase–“full-throated shriek,” “curved straw / of beak,” “the art of hum & dart, shimmer & pause.” And all those mellifluous “r” and “l” sounds in the second half of the poem are so *peaceful” in contrast to the sounds in the first half; even your breakfast food is noisy!

I’m so glad you found some much-need silence today, and along with it, this marvelous poem.

  4. tsena says:

my favorite lines: ” so tiny, so full of heart
and the art of hum & dart”
    love it!

  5. “You are what you eat” is a scary concept for me, but *not* for hummingbirds.
