“Tell me: what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?” ~ Mary Oliver (born September 10, 1935)

Oliver is an award-winning American poet, essayist and writer. She has won the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Award. Oliver is author of numerous collections of poetry, including American Primitive (1983), Dream Work (1986), New and Selected Poems (1992), and Wild Geese: Selected Poems (2004). She is author of other books, including A Poetry Handbook (1992).

I have found great comfort in her poems “The Journey” and “Wild Geese” over the years.
