The Quotidian, November 13, 2010 ~ Three Things Important in Life

“There are three things important in life: honesty, which means living free of the cunning of the mind; compassion, because if we have no concern for others, we are monsters; and curiosity, for if the mind is not searching, it is dull and unresponsive.” ~ Beatrice Wood (March 3, 1893 to March 12, 1998)

Beatrice Wood was an American artist. Due to her ties to the Dada movement, late in life she was (famously) dubbed the “Mama of Dada.” According to Wikipedia, Wood served as the “partial inspiration for the character of Rose DeWitt Bukater in James Cameron’s 1997 film Titanic.”
