New installment of “Did You Know” feature: Did you know that one of the most important pieces written by Holmes, Sr., was the poem”Old Ironsides” (1830)? He wrote it in response to the U.S. Navy’s planned scrapping of the ship. The poem led to preservation of the USS CONSTITUTION.
