The Quotidian, October 31, 2010 ~ One Must Not be Defeated

“While one may encounter many defeats, one must not be defeated.” ~ Maya Angelou (born April 4, 1928)

Maya Angelou is an American author, poet, and activist. Angelou is perhaps best known for her autobiography, I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings (1969). She was active in the Civil Rights Movement. In 1993 she read her poem “On the Pulse of  Morning” at the inauguration of President Bill Clinton.
