The Quotidian, September 12, 2010 ~ Gratitude

“Gratitude changes the pangs of memory into tranquil joy.” ~ Dietrich Bonhoeffer (February 4, 1906 to April 9, 1945)

Bonhoeffer was a German Lutheran pastor, theologian, and author. According to Wikipedia, he was “a founding member of the Confessing Church and participated in the German Resistance against the Nazis.” He was executed about a month before Germany surrendered to the Allies in May 1945.
