The Quotidian, August 17, 2010 ~ Your Heart is Made to Break

“If you’re really listening, if you’re awake to the poignant beauty of the world, your heart breaks regularly. In fact, your heart is made to break; its purpose is to burst open again and again so that it can hold ever more wonders.” ~ Andrew Harvey (born 1952)

Harvey is a British author and religious scholar.

According to Wikipedia, Harvey is “the founder of the Sacred Activism movement. He serves as Director of the Institute of Sacred Activism.”

I find that to be very interesting. In my blog posts I have been using quotes from activists and have been discussing the work of activists.
